Install in old Chrome versions
As of May 2020, Chrome versions 59 and older can no longer install extensions from the Chrome Web Store.
The extension package format used by those old versions of Chrome is no longer supported by the Web Store.
Due to this, trying to install an extension in those old browsers will result in the error message shown on the right.
This affects particularly users under Windows XP and Windows Vista who cannot update their browser anymore.
The latest Chrome version available to those OSs is Chrome 49 (released on April 2016).
In order to install an extension in those outdated browsers, you have to manually download the extension package and then drag the file to the
chrome://extensions page, as shown below.
To download a package, click a link below with right mouse button and select "Save link as...":
